In my review of WCHD info, pertussis (also called whooping cough) is a bacterial infection of the lungs and is on the rise in Washtenaw county.  6 cases reported in June.  Classic symptoms of "whoop" cough and affecting ages from 1-over 20 years of age.  PPE of masks and gloves, if a person reports a cough, would help prevent exposure since it is spread by air droplets.  Person is contagious until they have been on antibiotics for 5 days minimum.    Hope our crews stay Safe !!  Trish Klamert
